In this chapter you will be installing AWeb (a free Internet Browser for the Amiga). If you haven't already done so, please follow Chapter 7 and Install ClassAct.
1. Download AWeb_APL34_full_020.lha package from:- http://aweb.sunsite.dk/download.php and save it to the programs directory (C:\Program Files\Winuae\Hard Disks\programs)
2. Next re-launch WinUAE, left click the config you made, click the Load button, goto Misc properties, check that you have ticked BSDsocket.library emulation and then resave you config.
3. Click Start to boot up your emulated Workbench 3.1
4. Double click System drive, System directory and then
Shell to open CLI/Amiga DOS.
5. Type in:
lha x programs:AWeb_APL34_full_020.lha programs: and press
Return/Enter
6. After a few minutes when it has finished type
in:
endcli and press Return/Enter, close the two open
windows.
7. Double click Programs drive and AWeb_APL_020
directory.
8. Double click Install
9. Make sure Intermediate User is selected and then Click ‘Proceed With Install’.
10. Make sure Install for Real and None are selected and then Click ‘Proceed’.
11. Click ‘Proceed’.
12. Make sure System: is entered as ‘Selected Drawer’ (or Click Show Drives, select System) and then Click ‘Proceed’. (N.B. If a window with Docs/AWeb.iff opens just click the top left [_] to close it)
13. Click ‘Proceed’.
14. Make sure English is ticked and then Click ‘Proceed’.
15. Click ‘More than 2MB’.
16. Close both plugins.txt window and ReadMe window after reading info and then Click ‘Proceed’.
17. Click ‘Proceed’.
18. Now restart the Amiga by holding down the 3
keys:
CTRL + LEFT WINDOW +
RIGHT WINDOW keys (or press
CTRL + INSERT + HOME in older versions of WinUAE) Or, you could just press
F12 then click reset on bottom
left.
19. To run AWeb, Double click System drive, Double click AWeb_APL directory and Double click AWeb.
You now have AWeb installed on your hard disk. ;-)
